Narrative
SFCS worked with administrators and user groups at Radford University to design Hurlburt Student Center, a new student union located at the expanding east end of the campus. The center serves as the main social center of the Radford University campus, as well as the central information/visitors center.
The street along the front entry was converted to a pedestrian walkway, and a plaza was created between the walkway and the center. A dining arcade opens to the new plaza and to interior dining spaces.
Features include a food court and theme grille; auditorium / movie theater; bowling alley and billiards / game hall; information / visitors desk; student lounges; student organization office suites; dividable conference rooms; and pedestrian walkway and plaza.
Hurlburt Student Center was completed in August 2005. It is a Virginia Capital Outlay project.
