Covenant Woods

SFCS conducted a long-range planning study for Richmond Home for Ladies, an 80-year old facility located in the historical Fan District neighborhood of Richmond. A new community was developed on 22-acres in Hanover County, Virginia, now known as Covenant Woods. The community includes 104 independent living apartments, 30 cottages, 43 assisted living units, 13 dementia beds, and 26 nursing beds. Currently, SFCS is working on a new master plan that offers a unique blend of amenities, services, and references to the natural context of the site. The plan provides 84 apartments, 22 cottages, exciting new dining venues and a flexible multipurpose and performing arts room. The design also creates a wide-ranging "green" initiative that reduces the impacts of natural resource consumption, optimizes life-cycle economic performance, and improves quality of life for residents and staff.
