1960s & 1970s

Stu Franklin became a partner in 1961, followed by Patrick Shaffner in 1970 and Ron Crawford in 1974.  The "family" atmosphere continued to be the life-blood of the firm.

Eubank and Caldwell retired in 1969 after being in business 50 years.  A number of their projects became Roanoke landmarks, including:

  • The Grandin Theatre
  • Friendship Manor
  • The Boxley Building
  • The Central YWCA

Under the direction of Sherertz, Franklin, Crawford and Shaffner, the growing firm made a serious commitment to long-term care design with major projects in Richmond and Lynchburg, VA.  Significant health care projects for Roanoke Memorial Hospital continued during this time.
