David McGill is a Vice President at SFCS and holds a Master of Architecture from the Virginia Tech School of Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech. He has served as project designer for major SFCS projects across the country.
As an advocate for sustainable design and raising awareness of environmental responsibility, Mr. McGill is an active member of the "Green Committee" at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay and is seeking LEED Certification. His involvement in the sustainable planning and design techniques implemented in these projects has provided him firsthand knowledge of the benefits and costs of sustainable design and how to successfully implement these principles.
Mr. McGill has spoken at conferences sponsored by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA), the Virginia Association for Non-Profit Homes (VANHA), and at SFCS' own By Design conference. He serves on the faculty at Virginia Tech as an adjunct professor where he teaches a Landscape Architecture course and occasionally lectures a professional practice class.
