Overlook at Pine Knoll

Southern Pines, NC

As one of only three existing Jacobean Tudor buildings in the U.S., the Overlook at Pine Knoll is considered one of Southern Pines' most historic landmarks. The renovation restored the building's architectural details and created twenty luxury apartments for seniors. The original double loaded corridor was made into a single loaded corridor to accommodate the larger, market-rate apartments ranging in size from 1,265sf to 1,620sf. The building's first floor features an "arcade," which includes a game and billiards room, theater, chapel, fitness room, library and more. This project is a prime example of how historic preservation can be an integral part of a campus repositioning.
